Rumors once circulated that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s marriage fell apart due to his infidelity—and it turns out Affleck has a long history of cheating. The actor was allegedly unfaithful again, this time to famous actress Gwyneth Paltrow. According to reports, it was Ben’s unfaithfulness that ultimately caused their relationship to fall apart.
Affleck and Paltrow dated on and off for about three years before officially breaking up in 1999. In a new biography titled Gwyneth: The Biography, author Amy Odell reveals shocking details about the end of their relationship. She claims that Affleck cheated on Gwyneth.
“Their physical chemistry couldn’t overcome his self-destructive impulses, which may have included infidelity,” People quotes from the book.
The author also notes that when Ben met Gwyneth, he was struggling with alcohol issues and a gambling habit. Paltrow’s friends were wary of Affleck, as he didn’t always seem emotionally invested in the relationship.
“Sometimes he was more interested in playing video games at home with his friends than spending time with Gwyneth,” Odell adds.
Still, the book notes that Paltrow was very fond of Affleck in the bedroom. She even reportedly bragged to her friends about Ben’s skills and affection behind closed doors.
