From His Hospital Bed, Donny Osmond Shares a Touching Message.

Donny Osmond, a beloved figure in American entertainment, has enjoyed a long and successful career—but it hasn’t been without health challenges. On Wednesday, he posted a heartfelt video from a hospital bed, where he appeared sedated, raising concern among his loyal fans.

Osmond, who began performing professionally before he turned six, has been in the public eye for decades. Now 67, he’s faced a series of health scares over the years. In an earlier interview with Metro, he recalled a terrifying moment from the peak of “Osmondmania” in Manchester, when an enthusiastic fan accidentally poked him in the eye with a pen, nearly causing a serious injury.

During his final Las Vegas residency with his sister Marie in 2019, Donny noticed something was wrong during a performance. He later told the Mirror that he lost feeling in his arms and legs mid-show but continued dancing until it ended. Doctors later found that a spinal issue—linked to an injury from his 2009 win on Strictly Come Dancing—had caused the problem. Although he had surgery, complications arose.

“I thought I was out of the woods,” Donny explained, “but a secondary infection left me temporarily unable to move.” He spent several months in physical therapy and had to use a cane to walk, at one point unsure if he would fully recover. Fortunately, he did.

Now hospitalized once again, Donny shared an Instagram video in which he’s seen in a gown, hooked up to medical equipment, and under mild sedation. Despite the circumstances, he lightened the mood by singing Disney’s “Let’s Get Down to Business” from Mulan, joking as the sedation began to take hold.

“I’m getting a little dizzy,” he said moments before drifting off. In a later clip, he woke up and picked up the song where he left off.

He comforted his fans in the caption: “What better way to get through a procedure than by belting out your favorite battle anthem?! Feeling great now!”

Supportive comments poured in. “This broke my heart. Get well soon,” one fan wrote. Another shared, “Happy to hear you’re okay, but sorry you had to go through that.” Many others offered words of love and encouragement during his recovery.
