A 62-year-old Frenchman left his wife at a gas station during a nighttime trip from Paris to Morocco and only noticed she was missing after driving 300 kilometers.
According to France 3, the woman was left alone on the highway in the Deux-Sèvres department while her husband continued driving without realizing she had disappeared. The man could not remember exactly where he left his wife. Their 22-year-old daughter, who was sleeping in the back seat, also noticed nothing.
“We received a confused call around 8:30 a.m. The man couldn’t remember where or when he stopped,” said gendarmes from the Landes area.
Police reviewed footage from toll cameras and found that the car had made several stops during the night. The woman was only found thanks to her phone’s signal. She had spent the entire night at the Pamproux gas station.
