Instead of Cutting It Down, He Built a Dream Home in the Tree — What’s Inside Left Everyone in Awe!

In a quiet little town, 65-year-old Terry Meredith made a childhood dream come true — not just for himself, but for many others — by building a treehouse with a breathtaking view. Today, he warmly welcomes guests into this elevated haven.

Originally, Terry intended to cut down a large tree in his backyard. But everything changed the moment he climbed it.

“The tree was blocking my view of the sunset, so I planned to take it down,” he shared. “But once I reached the top, I was stunned. I couldn’t believe how beautiful the view was just 50 meters up.”

Rather than leave behind a bare stump, Terry turned the tree into the foundation for a cozy, handcrafted treehouse. He completed most of the construction himself, with a few helping hands from family and friends.

“I’m good with woodwork, so building it wasn’t hard,” he said. “The entire project took me about eight months.”

Built mainly from pine, with stairs crafted from local oak and chestnut, the treehouse cost around £8,000. Suspended five meters above the ground, the home includes a barbecue area and a viewing platform that steals every visitor’s heart.

What started as a personal project quickly turned into a community treasure.

“One day, my neighbor asked if she could celebrate her anniversary up there,” Terry recalled. “I said yes, but only if I got an invite too. It turned out to be a wonderful evening.”

Now, Terry opens his treehouse not only to neighbors but also to charities, happy to share the magical view with anyone who asks.

“It brings me so much joy to let others experience this special place,” he added with a smile.
