Sensing something wasn’t right, the officer asked more questions. The boy mentioned a man with a gold ring and a smiling woman who had told him about his mother’s death. Their names weren’t familiar, but the child was certain they were hiding something.

The woman in question, Anna, had worked as an accountant for a large pharmaceutical company. According to records, she had taken a medical leave just before her supposed death. Her employer later confirmed she had died, backed by a death certificate signed by the company’s own doctor.
But there was one major issue: no one had seen her body. The casket had been sealed before the ceremony. No autopsy had been done.
Upon exhumation, authorities made a stunning discovery—the coffin was empty.
The case exploded in national headlines. Investigators soon learned that Anna wasn’t just any employee—she had been compiling evidence against top executives in her company, including financial misconduct and illegal activities. She had planned to hand everything over to law enforcement.
