A fresh suspect has come forward in the investigation of Matthew Perry’s death, and it’s said to be a well-known friend of the actor.

A real-life detective story is unfolding around the tragedy that shocked fans worldwide. Nearly two years after the death of “Friends” star Matthew Perry, the investigation not only remains open but is gaining new momentum.

On October 28, 2023, the body of the 54-year-old actor was found in a jacuzzi. The initial cause of death was considered an accident. However, after toxicology reports, medical examiners concluded that acute ketamine intoxication was the cause. Ketamine is a drug used both in anesthesia and psychotherapy. Traces of buprenorphine—a medication for treating addiction—were also found in his blood.

The ketamine found in Perry’s system did not match the timeline of his last official therapy sessions. This raised a crucial question for investigators: where was the actor obtaining the drug, and who was supplying it?

Throughout 2024, several suspects emerged in the case:

  • Kenneth Iwamasa, Perry’s personal assistant, allegedly administered ketamine without a license;
  • Doctors Salvador Plasencia and Mark Chavez, who reportedly prescribed ketamine through questionable methods;
  • Eric Fleming, a close friend and supplier of ketamine vials;
  • Jaswin Sanga, known in Los Angeles as the “Ketamine Queen,” suspected of distributing the drug to VIP clients.

Three of the suspects have already pleaded guilty. Dr. Plasencia accepted a plea deal that could lead to up to 40 years in prison. Sanga is the only one denying charges; her trial is set for August 2025.

In the summer of 2024, suspicions also arose regarding Brooke Mueller, Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife, who was close to Perry, especially during his rehab. Her phone and laptop were seized, and although she was a witness—not a suspect—she provided valuable information about contacts and doctors involved.

Now, a shocking new twist has emerged: a second “celebrity” suspect has entered the investigation. Authorities confiscated a phone and laptop from a well-known woman within Perry’s circle. She is suspected of assisting in the illegal acquisition of ketamine, possibly by facilitating contact between doctors and suppliers.

Her identity remains officially undisclosed, but sources say she had a long-standing relationship with Perry and communicated with him during his rehabilitation. Investigators are examining messages and documents on her devices to determine whether she was involved in the illegal drug supply.

The investigation is being conducted not only by the police but also by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. It appears the story is far from over. Meanwhile, Perry’s close friends and family continue to honor his memory with great care and respect.
