An architect named Patrick had always held a special admiration for old buildings—water towers in particular. Growing up in Belgium, he often dreamed of what it might be like to live in one of these unique structures. It was a childhood fantasy he eventually managed to bring to life.

Years later, as an adult, Patrick and his partner discovered a dilapidated water tower on the outskirts of Brussels. The moment he saw it, he felt certain it was the one they had been looking for.

Although the tower had been left abandoned for decades, Patrick was ready to invest $43,000 in purchasing it. However, before any transformation could begin, they needed official approval. Securing permission from the authorities took seven years, and completing the renovation took another five—making the entire journey a twelve-year-long labor of love.
