Courageous wildlife rangers put their lives on the line to pull a baby giraffe from a raging river. (Video)

Despite the growing number of animal and bird species declared endangered or extinct, there are still regions on Earth where people coexist peacefully with wildlife, forming bonds of mutual trust and respect. In times of crisis, humans often step in to protect and support these animals, especially when their survival is at risk.

This particular story comes from Kenya and centers around a helpless baby giraffe caught in a life-threatening situation.

The young giraffe had become trapped in the middle of a crocodile-infested river, too weak to stay afloat. Fortunately, help arrived just in time.

A team of compassionate wildlife rangers and local residents, upon learning of the emergency, sprang into action. Their dramatic and heroic rescue was caught on camera.

According to international wildlife organizations, several giraffe species are now officially endangered. The Masai giraffe, for example, has seen its population fall to around 35,000 individuals in recent years.
