One such incredible moment was captured in the waters of Monterey Bay, California—a renowned spot for whale watching.
A gigantic whale was filmed breaching right beside a small fishing boat, creating a stunning sight.
Photographer Douglas Craft, who captured the image, remarked, “That whale is enormous! If I were the fisherman, I’d probably need some new clothes.”

The contrast between the tiny boat and the massive whale makes the creature appear even more colossal.
Kate Cummings, a fellow whale watcher present with Douglas, also recorded the event. She explained:
“The whale had already breached several times at a distance from the boat. From what I know, when whales breach repeatedly, they’re preparing to jump in a specific direction. But I never expected them to line up so perfectly.”
