Living in Aberdeen, Scotland, Alexis Brett has grown used to a home bursting with noise, laughter, playful chaos, and endless mountains of laundry.
Each day, she rises at 6:30 a.m., trying to grab a few peaceful moments before the busy day kicks off — no easy task when you’re a mom to eleven kids. Among them, only the youngest is a girl; the other ten are boys.
Before her life became all about parenting, Alexis worked as a nurse at a local hospital. She loved her job, but after having one child after another, her maternity leave turned into an extended pause from her career.
For more than sixteen years, Alexis has lived in a whirlwind of activity — juggling diaper changes, school drop-offs, meal prep, and never-ending cleaning.
Though the constant exhaustion was tough, she managed to stay positive. Sometimes, she confessed, she just longed to hide away in the bathroom for a brief moment of calm.

Deep down, Alexis always dreamed of having a daughter. After her tenth son was born, she wondered if that wish would ever come true.
