Her extreme weight wasn’t the result of a rare condition, but rather years of consuming excessive amounts of fast food. According to Mayra, her addiction to junk food spiraled out of control — and shockingly, her husband enabled the behavior by bringing her extra food daily and never encouraging her to seek help.
But everything changed when Mayra experienced a life-altering realization: she couldn’t keep living like this.
Determined to turn her life around, she underwent multiple surgeries — including gastric bypass and procedures to remove large amounts of fat and excess skin. Over time, she shed more than 200 kilograms.
Fast food became a thing of the past, and as the weight came off, she finally found herself able to move and exercise. With unwavering dedication and a complete lifestyle overhaul, Mayra continued to lose weight and eventually stabilized at 92 kilograms — a fraction of what she once was.
Though she and her husband have since divorced, they remain on good terms. Today, Mayra is a radiant, confident, and — most importantly — healthy woman.
Amazingly, despite the enormous stress on her body, her internal organs continued functioning throughout even her heaviest years — a testament to her resilience and the power of human will.
