Goodbye, Grandma Vibes—Hello, High-End Living! My DIY Home Makeover Shocks Everyone!

Today’s apartment makeover belongs to a young blogger who’s lived in the same home her entire life. Rather than moving out, she chose to breathe new life into her 1960s-era space with a bold renovation—and the results are nothing short of stunning.

The transformation began at the entrance: the front door was replaced, and the walls were painted white to open up the space visually. For durability and style, large-format porcelain tiles now cover the floors.

To the right of the entryway, a chic console, round mirror, and compact turquoise ottoman create a cozy and stylish vignette. A large wardrobe with mirrored fronts fits neatly into a niche, offering plenty of storage for outerwear.

The kitchen underwent a major layout shift. The original entrance was closed off, and access was rerouted through the living room. In place of a traditional door, a sleek French-style sliding partition was added. The flooring and backsplash are now finished in elegant porcelain stoneware, and a soft beige corner kitchen set hugs the wall.

The living room became the central hub, connecting to every room except the bathroom. A major upgrade included removing the old balcony block and replacing it with French-style doors, flooding the space with natural light.

A fold-out sofa sits against the right-hand wall—perfect for guests—while a media center with a fireplace-style frame anchors the opposite wall.

In the bedroom, walls are painted a soothing Tiffany blue, paired with classic laminate flooring. Decorative moldings and mirrors elevate the look, and a plush pink double bed with built-in storage takes center stage. Beside it, custom nightstands and a matching vanity add charm and function. Even a full dressing room was carved out, complete with outlets and proper ventilation.

The bathroom and toilet were combined into a single 6-square-meter oasis. Matte porcelain tiles cover the floor, while glossy tiles and mosaics add sophistication to the walls.

What started as a dated, decades-old apartment is now a modern, elegant space filled with personality, practicality, and thoughtful design.
