In the chronicles of Princess Diana’s personal life, there were many lovers, but even more admirers who were deeply in love with her. Among them were some Hollywood heartthrobs. In his new book Dianaworld: Obsession, author Edward White explores how the Princess of Wales and her “Diana effect” influenced men. The truth about one scandalous incident has come to light decades later.
In his book, White claims that Hollywood actors Sylvester Stallone and Richard Gere nearly came to blows over Princess Diana at Elton John’s house in the 1990s. The incident was revealed decades later by Elton John’s husband, David Furnish.

The story comes from Elton’s autobiography. He had invited Sylvester Stallone and Richard Gere to a private party at his home, which Diana also attended. I mean, it was Elton John, so probably everyone in the room was either a top-tier celebrity or a member of some major European royal family.
According to Elton John, Stallone arrived with the intention to “pick up” Diana. But he saw that the princess was favorably inclined toward Gere and was chatting with him casually.

Stallone grew increasingly upset throughout the evening because Richard Gere was simply dominating — or at least that’s how Stallone felt — the conversation with Diana. At one point, according to Elton John, Sylvester’s emotions got the better of him. He confronted Richard Gere face-to-face, and they had to be separated… They were two alpha males fighting over a woman whom, honestly, neither of them probably had a chance with, White said.
It was at Elton John’s party that Stallone and Gere nearly fought. However, both Hollywood actors now prefer not to comment on the incident, so it’s unclear how true the story really is.
