For 55-year-old singer Jennifer Lopez, the split from actor Ben Affleck proved to be a difficult ordeal. She even canceled her world tour. Her 17-year-old twins, Max and Emme, were deeply worried about their mother. That’s when J.Lo made a promise to her kids—a promise she was determined to keep no matter what.
“I told them, ‘This is a tough time, but I promise you, you will see me come out of this stronger and better,’” Jennifer shared. “I made that promise and I kept it. And they can feel that now. It gave me an incredible sense of peace in my life.”
Now, the Hustlers star is preparing for her summer tour. She said she feels prouder of herself now than she did a year ago. “I’m proud I got my kids through the hard times—they became stronger because of it. So this is a perfect time to sing, dance, and have fun with everyone,” the artist said with a smile.
Lopez believes now is the ideal moment for a global tour. She knows she has plenty to celebrate and share with her fans.
Recently, reports surfaced of tension between Affleck and Lopez. The former couple reportedly clashed over the mansion they co-own and have been unable to sell. However, Affleck has maintained a relationship with Lopez’s children—he was even seen taking them to a movie premiere not long ago.
