The blue carpet at the 2025 Met Gala — the most anticipated event in the fashion world — has officially wrapped up at New York’s Metropolitan Museum. This year, the Costume Institute’s gala was dedicated to Black dandyism and its influence on identity within the African diaspora.
The theme of the exhibition is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” Inspired by Monica Miller’s book “Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity,” the exhibit — opening May 10 — is the first in over two decades to be entirely focused on menswear.
Rihanna arrived late to the Met Gala’s red carpet. Instead of heading directly to the Metropolitan Museum steps, the star first went to her hotel to prepare.
