The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are known for their practicality, and Prince William often surprises his wife with rather unconventional gifts. Yet, knowing Kate’s personality well, he usually manages to pick things she genuinely appreciates.
Currently, Kate and Prince William are on a royal tour of Scotland. During their visit to a community center, the couple took part in renovation efforts, helping paint a mural and even using a nail gun alongside local workers.

Prince William couldn’t resist teasing his wife when she was handed the nail gun, playfully warning her not to pull the trigger too soon—so their trip wouldn’t be remembered for the wrong reasons. But the Princess impressed everyone by dropping to her knees and confidently driving in several nails, leaving the onlookers stunned.
“This is how it always goes,” William quipped.

Later, the mother of three shared a story about one of the strangest gifts her husband has ever given her: a chainsaw. The unusual Christmas present, Kate said, was intended for use in her garden—and she assured everyone that she actually planned to use it.
William and Kate left their three children at home for the trip, marking Kate’s first extended journey since her recovery from cancer. While on the Scottish island of Mull, the royal couple also celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary, having tied the knot on April 29, 2011.
Recently, Kate’s brother revealed that Prince William had to pass a kind of “test” before marrying into the family—adding another interesting detail to the royal love story.
