Roxy, a recently rescued raccoon, has given birth to four adorable babies — and she couldn’t be happier. Wanting to share her joy, Roxy proudly introduced her little ones to someone special: Brittany Saidel.
Their bond began in April 2021, when Brittany moved into her new home. The previous owner had a reputation for caring deeply for local wildlife, so Brittany wasn’t entirely surprised when she heard raccoons might stop by. Still, she was taken aback when, during her first week, they came knocking at her back door — quite literally — while she was making dinner.
As time passed, the raccoons grew comfortable with Brittany, and she chose to carry on the tradition of welcoming them. By early May, Roxy started appearing more frequently, and one day, she showed up with her four babies in tow. Brittany recalls seeing her feed them right outside the door. In fact, one of Roxy’s babies from the previous year still drops by.
Over time, Roxy began visiting more during the day, and it’s clear she sees Brittany as part of her extended family. Roxy, who lives in the woods just behind the house, often brings her babies right up to Brittany’s door — a gesture of deep trust.
To make their visits more fun, Brittany even bought a mini pool for the raccoons to splash and play in. The experience has been so moving for her that it inspired a new path: she’s now working toward getting licensed to start a nonprofit wildlife conservation organization.
Roxy and her babies have become internet sensations, bringing smiles to people far and wide. But for Brittany, the impact is deeply personal.
“Roxy has truly changed my life,” she says. “She brings joy every single day — she’s become part of the family.”
