Without further delay: The actor fully supports his daughter, Iris De Niro.
“I loved and supported Aaron as my son, and now I love and support Iris as my daughter. I don’t understand why this is such a big deal. I love all of my children,” De Niro said in a brief but powerful statement to Variety.
Iris, one of the actor’s seven children, recently gave an honest interview to Them, where she shared her journey toward accepting her identity. She revealed that she began her transgender transition in 2023 but only recently felt ready to make a public statement.
After the interview, Iris thanked everyone who has supported her on Instagram. She admitted that she’s not used to receiving so much attention.
“And for those asking if I have an agent or a contract: I’m literally just a girl with a phone, so sorry if I miss any messages!” De Niro humorously added.
