A young woman stumbled upon a worn-out, unattractive dresser and immediately saw its hidden potential, envisioning it as the perfect addition to her home décor.
She started by stripping off the old finish with just some Fairy detergent and a metal sponge. Since the dresser was made of inexpensive plywood and pine, and several drawers were missing, she decided that painting it would be the best option.
Her plan was to transform it into a stylish shoe rack. She began by sanding down the imperfections and thoroughly cleaning the surface before applying paint. For the interior shelves, she used leftover paint from a previous shoe rack project.
Although the paint was labeled as acrylic enamel, it behaved more like alkyd — thick, aromatic, but offering excellent coverage. To replace the missing drawers, she crafted doors using ones she purchased from the market.
