The father of a young girl with cancer, who died in the American Airlines crash, shares a text message that made him suspect something was amiss.

A father who lost his wife and 12-year-old daughter in the heartbreaking American Airlines crash has shared the moment that made him realize something was wrong.

On January 29, a PSA Airlines plane collided mid-air with a Black Hawk helicopter near Washington D.C. The crash, which took place over the Potomac River, resulted in the deaths of all 64 people on board the plane and three aboard the helicopter.

Andy Beyer, who was waiting to pick up his wife, Justyna, and daughter, Brielle, after a figure skating event, began to worry when the plane failed to land on time and he couldn’t reach them. His worst fears were confirmed when a friend who was an air traffic controller informed him of the crash.
