She came under the care of pioneering surgeons, Frank Gerow and Thomas Cronin, who offered her the chance to participate in a groundbreaking procedure.
Gerow and Cronin had developed an innovative technique using flexible silicone capsules, which proved safer and more effective than previous methods of breast augmentation. Timmy’s surgery was a success, and she experienced a significant boost in self-esteem, which she credited to positive changes in her life, including remarriage and career growth. She kept the procedure private for 25 years.
