Rod Stewart is back on tour this year, performing tracks from his latest album, The Tears of Hercules, along with his timeless hits. After overcoming thyroid cancer, he faced the challenge of relearning how to sing.
Speaking on ITV’s Loose Women, Stewart revealed that while the cancer was removed easily, he completely lost his voice and spent six months recovering.
In an interview with USA Today, he recalled the shock of his diagnosis but assured fans that he’s now in great health. Surviving this health scare gave him a fresh perspective on life. In 2019, he also shared that he had successfully beaten prostate cancer, crediting early detection for saving his life.
Encouraging others to prioritize their health, Stewart joked that getting checked isn’t as daunting as it seems.
