At the end of 2024, George Clooney separated from his family. The actor moved to New York, while his wife Amal and their children stayed in the UK. This six-month separation sparked rumors of a divorce for the “Ocean’s Eleven” star. However, in his latest interview, George Clooney set the record straight.
During this time, Amal really was living in Europe, while George was in the U.S. Insiders close to the couple revealed that they had started drifting apart due to the challenges of a long-distance relationship.
And it seems that was true—the couple was struggling with the distance. But Clooney decided not to let the situation lead to divorce. In a recent interview, George shared that Amal and the kids would be moving to New York to live with him while he is performing in the Broadway play Good Night, and Good Luck. Moreover, Amal and the children will attend the premiere of the play.
“I don’t want them to watch. I’ll seat my wife all the way in the back of the theater,” Clooney joked in his CBS News interview.
However, insiders say that this change in plans doesn’t sit well with Amal. As a human rights lawyer, she has a lot of work, most of which is in Europe.
“She missed him, but she doesn’t like having to adjust to his schedule,” added a source close to the couple.
