Against All Odds: 61-Year-Old Woman Gets Engaged to 24-Year-Old Lover Despite Critics

A 61-year-old woman who is often mistaken for her 24-year-old fiancé’s great-grandmother is proving that love knows no age limits.

Cheryl McGregor and Quran McCain may not fit the traditional mold of a couple, but that hasn’t stopped them from embracing their relationship and building a life together in Rome, Georgia.

Their story began in 2012 at Dairy Queen, where Cheryl’s son was the manager and both she and Quran worked. At the time, Quran was just 15, and Cheryl was in her early 50s. However, they insist their relationship remained purely platonic until years later.

Despite Quran being younger than one of Cheryl’s own children, the couple refuses to let public scrutiny affect their bond. Their 37-year age gap has drawn both criticism and curiosity, but they remain unfazed, deeply in love, and determined to get married this year.

Their love story has gained attention on TikTok, where they share their everyday moments, showcasing their relationship just like any other couple.

“We don’t even think about the age gap,” Quran explains. “Cheryl has a young spirit, and the biggest misconception is that I’m with her for money or inheritance.”

Cheryl describes their love as “different but amazing,” emphasizing how Quran’s compassion and emotional openness have been unlike anything she’s experienced before.

Quran believes their connection is deeply spiritual and encourages others to follow their hearts, saying, “Do what makes you happy.”
