Being an adult comes with the freedom to do whatever you want, whenever you want, and one of the best parts is having full control over how you present yourself to the world—whether that’s through your clothing, hairstyle, or overall appearance.
While we all have this freedom, not everyone is as bold or creative as Amber Luke, an Australian woman in her twenties with a unique passion for body art. Amber began getting tattoos at just 16, and over the years, her love for tattoos has grown to shape her entire identity.
Amber has reportedly spent an astonishing $120,000 on transforming into the “Dragon Girl” she now calls herself.
However, her journey hasn’t been without challenges. A few years ago, when she decided to get eyeball tattoos, things nearly took a dangerous turn. “Sadly, my artist went too deep into my eyeball. I was blind for three weeks. That was truly painful,” she recalls.
Once a typical blonde girl next door, Amber’s body alterations have drastically changed her appearance. She’s had a forked tongue, eyeball tattoos, and nearly every inch of her visible skin covered in tattoos. Amber has spent $120,000 on these changes, with $70,000 going toward surgeries and $50,000 for approximately 600 tattoos.
Although her transformation may shock some, Amber sees it as an essential part of overcoming her past struggles. “I was deeply depressed, suicidal, and felt like a walking corpse,” she shared. “I felt numb and hated myself. But now, I’ve become someone I’m proud of. I’m a strong woman who knows who she is and what she wants.”
The difference between Amber’s appearance before her body changes and her current look is truly remarkable. While she faced criticism after her first tattoo, it didn’t stop her from using body art to express herself. Though her transformation may not appeal to everyone, the most important thing is that Amber feels confident and happy in her own skin.
