“Why Meghan Markle Faces Global Criticism”:💔😓 Insights from an American Host

In mid-January, Netflix will premiere Meghan Markle’s new project—a cooking show titled “With Love, Meghan”.

In the show, the Duchess of Sussex appears as the perfect hostess, showcasing her cooking skills in an immaculate, dollhouse-like kitchen. The trailer, already sparking conversations on social media, features Meghan preparing dishes with top-quality ingredients, either homegrown or sourced from farmers’ markets. She maintains a calm, almost blissful demeanor as she cooks, surrounded by celebrity guests who openly express their admiration. For added charm, Prince Harry even makes a cameo, and Meghan is seen in a beekeeper’s outfit.

However, this idyllic presentation has received mixed reactions. While her fans eagerly await the premiere, critics have been quick to harshly assess the project. One of the most vocal critics is American TV host Meghan McCain, daughter of the late Senator John McCain.

“Markle is Out of Touch with Reality”

In her blog post on X (formerly Twitter), McCain explained why she believes “With Love, Meghan” has little chance of winning back the American public’s favor.
“Initially, I was a fan of Meghan Markle—I found her cool, stylish, and modern. Like the rest of the world, my opinion changed when she disrespected the royal family. Now that she wants to embrace being American again, rather than British aristocracy, she seems to have forgotten that Americans value authenticity—raw, unfiltered, and uncensored,” McCain wrote.

She criticized the cooking show as overly staged and disconnected from the current realities of society:

“Even in the trailer, everything is excessively scripted, overproduced, and out of touch with reality. Over the past two days, there have been two terrorist attacks, major wars continue, and Americans are struggling to afford groceries.”

McCain argued that instead of creating an idealized portrayal, Markle could have addressed real issues that concern Americans:
“I would advise Meghan to create a show focused on delivering fresh produce to food deserts in low-income areas. Do something to help others, rather than serve your own ego.”

McCain concluded with a sharp remark:
“This is why the world doesn’t like you—nothing more. You’re completely and utterly tone-deaf to the moment.”
