American journalist and former wife of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Maria Shriver, became one of the victims of the wildfires that broke out in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, on Tuesday morning, January 7. Her luxurious residence was completely destroyed by the fire, and Maria reached out to her followers to show the extensive damage and share that, fortunately, she had managed to evacuate.

“Heartbreaking, devastating, unbelievable. Everything is gone,” she wrote under a video by reporter Jonathan Vigliotti. “Our neighborhood, our restaurants. Our friends lost everything. We were evacuated, but we are safe. But people… people lost everything.”

“Firefighters are doing everything they can, but the fire is so massive that it’s out of control, and now there are numerous fires across Los Angeles County,” the 69-year-old Shriver continued.

“We, the residents of this city, will hold each other tight.”

Maria urged neighbors to “follow the instructions” and allow firefighters to do their work without obstruction. It’s worth noting that, as a result of the disaster, Shriver wasn’t the only one to lose her home—Paris Hilton also lost hers, as the fire spread to Malibu, where her beachfront residence is located.
