Sometimes ‘more isn’t better’, as demonstrated by a New Zealand woman who shared how creating a little transportable house has improved her life.
Jude, the home’s owner, was a huge fan of tiny homes when they first gained popularity a few years ago, but she didn’t want to be confined to one place, so she constructed a tiny house that she could carry with her wherever she goes and fit right on the back of her vehicle.
The tiny house offers all the amenities of a typical little home, including built-in garbage disposal and water. It is 6.4 meters long and 2.4 meters wide. Amazingly, the truck’s 800-watt solar panels provide electricity all year round even though it is totally off the grid.
While you enter the house through the enormous French doors, you are greeted by exquisite décor. The doors are made to give you the impression that you are outside even while you are sitting or standing inside. The little house has a contemporary Scandinavian vibe thanks to its timber paneling and wood accents.
In addition to storage, a kitchen, a space for preparing meals, a gas oven, a standard refrigerator, and a full-sized functional shower and bathroom, the house includes all the amenities needed for daily living.
Depending on the time of day, the living room doubles as a bedroom since the bed is attached by a pulley system and drops down from the wall.
Jude states:
“I park in some very great spots, and I’m usually the only one there. I’m never afraid, though, since you get a sense of a place’s atmosphere, whether it’s positive or negative, or the types of people you see there during the day. And I’m not going to spend my life based on what other people might do.”
Jude went on to mention feeling lonely:
“I simply consider the folks I encounter. I also get to meet some incredible folks. I sit here, take in the beautiful scenery, read my book, and do this and that. After that, I realize that I haven’t spoken to anyone today.
