Exclusive: the stars’ aspirations for the upcoming year.
The Standard questioned several celebrities about their New Year’s resolutions as we get ready to welcome 2025.
Nick Jonas
For the 32-year-old American musician and actor, 2025 is a significant year. In addition to commemorating the 20th anniversary of his band the Jonas Brothers, he will be starring in the upcoming comedy You’re Cordially Invited, which will be starring Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon. In a limited run of Jason Robert Brown’s The Last Five Years, the Sucker hitmaker will also make his much awaited Broadway comeback.
Additionally, he was been named the new global spokesperson for the Fossil watch brand.
“I always find these New Year’s resolutions to be tough,” Jonas, who is married to actress Priyanka Chopra and has a three-year-old daughter named Malti, said, expressing his wish to “take bigger risks” moving forward. There is a lot of pressure to complete some of these tasks. Consistency, in my opinion, because the resolution implies that you’re not doing it at the moment, but I want to reinterpret it to mean that I want to be consistent with the people and relationships in my life, including my family, friends, and, of course, my wife and kid.FaceTime is a great tool for maintaining constant connection, especially when traveling as we do and spending a lot of time away. I believe my main focus is on maintaining relationships with people despite leading such a hectic life.”
Paloma Faith
The 43-year-old singer-songwriter, who was born in London, is departing 2024 with her book MILF, which is the number one Sunday Times bestseller.
She plans to transfer the positive energy into new music and a podcast in order to maintain it next year.
“My goal is to write my biggest and most successful album to date and perhaps just stop the inner bully—the way I talk to myself,” she stated. Bad. It’s easier said than done, but you must treat yourself with the same kindness that you attempt to show others.
LL COOL J
The 56-year-old rapper and actor released his first album in 11 years, marking his eagerly anticipated comeback to the music industry.
His fourteenth studio album, titled The FORCE (an acronym for Frequencies of Real Creative intensity), is a dynamic blend of contemporary sounds and vintage hip-hop intensity. He plans to tour the UK with it in 2025.
“I live my entire life like it’s a resolution,” he remarked. It’s too late once the New Year arrives! I make my decisions years in advance, so I don’t make any New Year’s resolutions. By the time the New Year arrives, I’ve typically been working on a project for the past three years.
