“You’re not pretty enough”: An actress who won two Oscars and raised two sons heard

Sally Field, often told she wasn’t “pretty enough” for the movies, got her start in Hollywood with the TV series Gidget in 1965 and The Flying Nun in 1967.

Despite a difficult family situation, including her parents’ divorce and her stepfather’s strict discipline, Sally found refuge in drama.
