The Hollywood mansion, known for its “cursed” reputation, is now up for sale. Originally owned by Britney Spears, who later moved out citing the house was “full of evil spirits,” it was sold to actress Brittany Murphy in 2003 for $3.85 million. Six years later, on December 20, 2009, Murphy tragically passed away at the age of 32 under mysterious circumstances (an investigation later determined that pneumonia was the cause of death). Just five months later, her 40-year-old husband Simon Monjack also died unexpectedly at the same house.

Monjack’s mother, Linda, later revealed that mold had been discovered in the home and shared with the press that her son had experienced hallucinations before his death, believing something was crawling under his skin.

The current owners bought the mansion in 2020 and are now selling it for $17.9 million through real estate agent David Parnes of Carolwood Estates, a leading agency in the Los Angeles property market.
Notably, both Spears and Murphy had mentioned experiencing a sense of something otherworldly in the house.
