It’s hard to believe, a real miracle.
Sometimes it is very difficult to believe that there is still room for miracles in the modern world. And yet, sometimes they happen, contrary to all laws of science and logic. A tiny boy who was born weighing only 400 grams and survived despite negative prognoses from doctors was just such a miracle.
Little Abel was born only in the 24th week of pregnancy. His mother Charlotte developed severe preeclampsia and several other complications, which together were a serious danger for the expectant mother. The woman underwent an emergency cesarean section. However, doctors immediately warned Charlotte that the baby had virtually no chance. They advised the woman to say goodbye to the baby while he was alive.

This was very hard news for Charlotte and her husband. A year ago, the couple had already tried to have a baby, but the pregnancy was interrupted at 17 weeks due to complications. Charlotte believed that Abel was her gift from heaven and the baby would survive. Despite all hope, the doctors nevertheless placed the baby in intensive care.

Abel’s lungs were not working well, the required level of oxygen in the body was not maintained, which could have damaged the brain. Later, doctors discovered a hematoma in the child’s brain. The next day, Charlotte was told more sad news: the child’s lungs began to fill with fluid, and serious breathing problems appeared again. The neonatologist said that Abel had only a few hours left.
Charlotte, who was not yet allowed to even get up, nevertheless persuaded the doctors to take her to her son. Looking at the tiny baby in the glass box, she mentally asked the baby not to leave her. And then something happened that the doctors did not expect. The little boy, who had already been given up on, suddenly began to actively move his legs and tried to take a breath. And then another, and another… In front of the stunned doctors, the baby tried to breathe on his own.

Several days passed. During this time, Abel’s condition fluctuated, getting worse and better. However, the little one turned out to be a real fighter. Additional examination later showed that the hematoma had resolved on its own. True, it was still a long way to a full recovery, but Abel was definitely on the mend.
Only about 4 months later, the parents were able to take the boy home. Abel is still under close medical supervision, but there is no longer a danger to his life. Today, the boy looks like a normal, cheerful baby. Looking at him, no one would even guess what this little one had to go through when he was just born.
