James Van Der Beek picked up a part-time job to help pay for his cancer treatment.😓 The “Dawson’s Creek” star shared his diagnosis with the public in early November.

American tabloids report that 47-year-old actor James Van Der Beek has faced financial difficulties while battling colorectal cancer, which he was recently diagnosed with. However, the actor quickly found a way to earn money through advertising and merchandise sales related to his 1999 film Varsity Blues, in which he played quarterback Jonathan “Mox” Moxon. James shared a photo on social media of himself wearing a jersey with his character’s name and number.

“Happy to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Varsity Blues by releasing a limited edition of Moxon #4 shirts, each of which will be signed with my autograph,” Van Der Beek announced.

The star of Dawson’s Creek promised that a portion of the sales would go towards helping families affected by financial hardship due to the high costs of cancer treatment.

“Part of my net income will go to families struggling with the heavy burden of expensive cancer treatment,” he stated.

The actor revealed his devastating diagnosis in early November, admitting that he did so under the threat of tabloids releasing the information without his consent. This statement disclosed that he is suffering from colorectal cancer.
