‘Finally Free’: Dolph Lundgren Beats Cancer After Nine Years of Treatment

Nine years after Dolph Lundgren was diagnosed with a malignant tumor, the actor is now cancer-free, the action star revealed on his Instagram blog.

“Finally cancer free <…> Here I am at UCLA about to go and get this last dead tumor removed. Since I don’t have any more cancer cells in my body, I believe I will be cancer free, so I’m really looking forward to it,” Lundgren told his followers. The 67-year-old actor added that the nine years of struggle have taught him to live in the present and enjoy every moment.

Dolph Lundgren first spoke about cancer in 2023 in an interview with In Depth With Graham Bensinger. Lundgren was first diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2015. After surgery, the actor went into remission for five years, but during a visit to a doctor in Switzerland in 2020, he was diagnosed with new tumors in the liver and kidneys. Dolph Lundgren was given 2-3 years to live.

I had a wonderful life. I lived five lives in one. So I didn’t feel bitter, but I felt sorry for my children and my fiancee.

At the University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center, Lundgren was given a newly developed treatment that was 90% effective.

While battling cancer, Dolph Lundgren was filming The Expendables 4 and Aquaman 2.
