Back in 2017, Rande Gerber, a friend and business partner of George Clooney, revealed that the famous actor had previously handed $1 million in cash to each of his 14 closest pals.
In an interview with GQ magazine in 2020, Clooney affirmed this and gave an explanation of the reasons behind his magnanimous act.
He stated: “I had recently met Amal, but we weren’t even dating. I was a single man. We were all becoming old. I was fifty-two or so. Furthermore, the majority of my friends are older than I am.
The actor felt lucky to have such devoted pals at his age, despite the fact that he was single. He claimed that for 35 years, his buddies had been there for him no matter what, helping him in different ways.

He went on to say:
“Over the years, they have supported me when I needed it. And over the years, I have assisted them. All of us are close buddies. And I realized that I wouldn’t have any of this without them. We’re all really close, and I simply assumed that they would all be in the will if I were struck by a bus. Why the hell am I waiting to be struck by a bus, then?
The actor reportedly obtained a van and collected $14 million in cash from a Los Angeles warehouse that held “giant pallets” of cash.
Clooney packed the money into 14 Tumi luggage with the assistance of his security personnel. Then he invited his closest pals around for dinner.
Clooney stated: “And I just held up a map and I just pointed to all the places I got to go in the world and all the things I’ve gotten to see because of them.”
Gerber revealed: ‘Listen, I want you all to know how much you’ve meant to me and how much you mean in my life,’ George starts to say. I slept on your couch when I arrived in Los Angeles. Having all of you in my life is such a blessing, and without you, I wouldn’t be where I am now. Therefore, it was very vital to me to give back while we were all present. He went on to say: “One [friend] was attempting to provide for his family by working at an airport bar in Texas. commutes to work each day on a bicycle. These are the men that looked after George, and now he’s returning the favor.”
