The show celebrated her 69th birthday on November 13 with a series of games and discussions in her honor. During one segment, the Ghost star was humorously shown with her face on a wheel of cheese.
Sara Haines jokingly mentioned, “I’ve always wanted my face on cheese,” prompting Goldberg to respond that she preferred to “eat occasionally.” This led to a funny moment when Haines, surprised by Goldberg’s X-rated comment, walked off the set. The studio audience gasped, laughed, and cheered at Goldberg’s cheeky remark. Realizing what she’d said, Goldberg added, “Never mind. This 24-month-aged wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano from Italy is a perfect example of Italian quality and tradition.”
As the audience looked on in confusion, Haines returned to the stage, trying to remain composed. Goldberg continued her joke, saying, “And eat Whoopi Goldberg if you want a chance to win a wheel like this one!” The comic also playfully added, “That’s right! No, and have some food!”
Earlier this year, Goldberg shocked her fans when she revealed in her memoir that she scattered her mother’s ashes at Disneyland. During an interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers, she shared that she chose the location because her mother loved the “Small World” ride, which had debuted at the World’s Fair when Goldberg was a child. In a lighthearted moment, Goldberg jokingly described how she would “pretend to sneeze” and scatter a little of her mother’s ashes while visiting the theme park.
