Diana is never alone; she always has a little companion by her side. Issyl, as she’s called, is a rescue. Diana created a sanctuary for wombats who are unable to survive on their own.
Three months ago, Diana first spotted Issyl, one of several species struggling to survive due to climate change in recent years. Diana immediately recognized that the young wombat needed her help.

At the sanctuary, Issyl felt safe and quickly formed a bond with Diana, wanting to be by her side at all times. In response, Diana came up with a routine. Each morning, Issyl waits patiently at Diana’s feet until it’s time for their walk.

Normally, wombats aren’t fond of humans, but when Diana arrived at the sanctuary, Issyl felt calm and ready to accept her care. Issyl likely finds comfort in the carrier, as it reminds her of the security she felt with her mother.

Issyl will spend the rest of her life at the sanctuary, never having to worry about being alone again. She’s thrilled to have a cozy carrier and a permanent home to call her own.
