While her husband Prince William, along with Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, spent a long and taxing evening at Buckingham Palace, Middleton was presiding over a meeting for her beloved early childhood development project. Apparently, she felt well enough to leave her Adelaide Cottage in Windsor and invite staff members working on the project to a gathering there.
Meanwhile, William, whose tired appearance did not go unnoticed, was stepping in for both himself and Kate, entertaining about 900 guests at the annual diplomatic reception. This event, one of the major official occasions of the year, saw both Charles and Camilla also in attendance, despite their personal health challenges. Charles, who has been battling cancer since his diagnosis in February, felt it was important not to miss the reception, just as Camilla, who had been recovering from a respiratory infection for the past three weeks, also chose to attend.
