Erika Eleniak, now 54, recently surprised many with her transformed appearance, showcasing arms covered in tattoos. It’s a stark contrast to the former sex symbol of the early 1990s, who was once known for her striking beauty.

As a child, Erika was incredibly photogenic, and her parents quickly capitalized on her looks, landing her roles in commercials and TV appearances. At just 12, she made her mark in one of Hollywood’s most iconic films, *E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial* (1982), playing a classmate admired by the protagonist.

However, it was 1989 that truly marked her rise to fame. At 20, she graced the pages of *Playboy* and became a household name with her role on *Baywatch*. The show, featuring women in red swimsuits running along the beach, catapulted Erika into the spotlight as a sex symbol of the time.
In 1992, Erika left *Baywatch* to focus on a film career, initially finding success. She starred alongside Steven Seagal and Tommy Lee Jones in the hit thriller *Under Siege*, which earned Oscar nominations. She also appeared in the movie adaptation of *The Beverly Hillbillies*.

Unfortunately, her subsequent projects didn’t meet the same success. The romantic comedy *A Pyromaniac’s Love Story* (1995) failed to impress, as did *Bordello of Blood* (1996), a horror-comedy from the *Tales from the Crypt* franchise. By the time she was 27, Hollywood had largely moved on from Erika, and her career never fully recovered.

In 2001, she married a crew technician, and in 2006, she welcomed a child. During this time, Erika began to lose the beauty that had once been central to her career, struggling with overeating and weight gain. After a break from acting between 2006 and 2010, she made occasional appearances in various projects.
