Born in Welch, West Virginia, in 1957, Steve Harvey’s early life was shaped by financial struggles. Raised by his mother, a Sunday school teacher, and his father, a coal miner, Steve spent much of his childhood in Cleveland, Ohio. Despite their modest means, his parents instilled in him a deep sense of perseverance and belief in his dreams.

From a young age, Steve had a dream of being on television, though it seemed out of reach given his family’s situation. However, the desire to succeed drove him forward, even in the face of challenges like a stutter and limited opportunities.
Steve’s path to success was anything but smooth. He endured homelessness, poverty, and setbacks in his education, including a period of living in his car for three years. At 38, Steve finally bought his first car, a symbol of his progress after years of struggle.

His work ethic remained strong, and he worked on his grandfather and uncle’s farm until he was 16, learning valuable life lessons along the way. The family’s financial hardship was so great that Steve didn’t experience a flushing toilet until he was five.
In 1985, Steve’s comedic talent began to emerge, and his performance at an open mic night marked the beginning of his full-time career in comedy. His rise continued with notable appearances on “Showtime at the Apollo” and a sitcom.

Today, Steve Harvey is a celebrated comedian, TV host, author, and entrepreneur. His journey from poverty to success is a testament to his relentless work ethic, determination, and faith in himself. He has often expressed gratitude to God and his fans for their unwavering support throughout his career.
Steve’s personal life has been equally fulfilling. He has found love with his wife, Marjorie, who has been a steadfast partner in both his personal and professional life. Together, they have built a loving family, including seven children and seven grandchildren.

Steve Harvey’s story is a powerful reminder that no matter the odds, with resilience, hard work, and self-belief, anything is possible.
