Kate began her path to fame at a very young age. The schoolgirl was only 14 years old when she was noticed at the New York airport by the director of the London agency “Storm” Sarah Doukas. The businesswoman suggested the girl try herself on the catwalk. Moss took a risk and became one of the main stars in the 90s.
There were difficult moments in the career of the 50-year-old muse of designers that caused her psychological trauma. Kate still finds it painful to remember one candid shoot. She had to pose topless for the cover of The Face magazine, which was taken by photographer Corinne Day in 1990.
“I never wanted to be photographed naked. I cried, and I had to deal with it, because Day told me: “If you don’t do this, I won’t hire you for the next job,” so I had to live through it,” Moss shared heartbreaking details.
Kate remembered how that shoot went. “It was me, Corinne Day, hairstylist Drew Jarrett and makeup artist Dick Page in the studio at the time. So I would turn men away. I would say, ‘I’m not going to let you look at me.’ I was very shy,” the supermodel assured.
Moss explained that she still feels uncomfortable remembering what happened. “I was 15, still at school. Luckily, that magazine wasn’t sold in Croydon, so I don’t think anyone actually saw it, but people I knew had clearly heard of it.”
Kate’s only daughter followed in her mother’s footsteps. The girl is building a successful career in the modeling business. At the recent Victoria’s Secret fashion show, they walked the catwalk together. Moss appeared in a dramatic look — a black set, a lace transparent dress and huge wings on her back. Lila appeared in a delicate outfit — sparkling pink lingerie and a short poncho.
