Pamela Anderson shared that she returned to her native Canada from the vibrant city of Los Angeles to “rediscover who she was before” the fame and media frenzy. In a recent interview, the *Baywatch* icon revealed that she didn’t want to be defined by the public persona that had been created for her. Speaking with *Women’s Wear Daily*, Anderson explained that her move to Vancouver Island on the east coast of British Columbia gave her the space to reconnect with her true self.
“I see it as a return home,” she said. “It was an opportunity to really look at my life and remember who I truly am, not who others made me out to be. I didn’t want my past to define me; I wanted to be defined by what I’m doing now.”
This isn’t the first time Anderson has reflected on her decision to go back to her roots. In a September 2024 interview with *Better Homes & Gardens*, she admitted that when she first returned to Canada, she felt deeply disconnected. “I didn’t feel very good,” she shared. “I didn’t know what had happened over the years, but now I feel so far from the image I used to have.” She explained how she struggled with sadness and loneliness, feeling misunderstood and as though her life had been filled with mistakes. Anderson went on to say she was hard on herself, believing she had put her family and children through difficult experiences. “It took me a few years to work through all of that,” she reflected.
The actress has two sons, Brandon, 28, and Dylan, 26, from her marriage to Tommy Lee. During her first few years back in Canada, she spent time renovating her parents’ house, writing, and even learning to bake. These personal endeavors ultimately led to her 2023 memoir *Love, Pamela* and a cookbook, *I Love You*, which was released in October 2024. Anderson is also continuing her acting career, with her latest project, *The Last Dancer*, having premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in September and scheduled for a wide release on January 10.
