28-year-old Sophie Turner, known for her role in “Game of Thrones,” revealed the primary reason she left the U.S. during her divorce from Joe Jonas in an honest interview with *Harper’s Bazaar*. In the latest issue, for which she is the cover star, she also discussed her longing for home and motherhood, as she is the mother of two daughters: Willa and Delphine.

Sophie is set to receive the prestigious Performance Award at the Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards 2024 on November 5. However, her successes have come after a challenging and stressful year. The divorce from 35-year-old Joe Jonas began in September last year and drew media attention due to their disputes over custody of their two daughters, 4-year-old Willa and 2-year-old Delphine. Before their split, the family lived in the U.S., but Sophie was eager to return to her native Britain.

“In every city we visited, I would immediately find a British shop and stock up on chocolate for the month,” she shared.
Sophie noted that changes in U.S. legislation were key factors in her decision to go back home.
“Gun violence, abortion laws—everything just piled up,” she candidly admitted.
Upon returning to the UK, Sophie found success not only in her career, starring in the drama “Joan,” but also in her personal life, where she began a passionate romance with aristocrat Peregrine Pearson. Recently, she delighted her fans by sharing a series of new photos of her boyfriend, wishing him a heartfelt happy birthday on social media.
