This week, a fan shared an archival video on social media featuring popular country singer Taylor Swift discussing in a TV show that she would go to prom with Sean Combs. It’s worth noting that in September, the music mogul was charged with human trafficking for sexual exploitation, following a video that surfaced months earlier showing him violently attacking his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.
In the 2011 segment on the Rachel Ray show, Swift was presented with several celebrity photos and asked to choose one while answering various questions about fashion, style, or interests. During the “Rapid Fire” quiz, she was asked which stars she would take to prom.
“It would be a whole group, and it would be a really fun group,” Taylor replied, showing a photo that included Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez, Sheryl Crow, Justin Timberlake, and P. Diddy.
As Swift picked the photos, host Rachel joked that the singer was planning a “crazy prom date.”
“So, why such an impressive number of people?” Rachel asked.
Swift responded that they were all great, and when it came to Diddy’s photo, she highlighted his kindness.
“Diddy has always been very nice to me,” Taylor stated.
“He’s a gentleman, isn’t he? He’s a wonderful gentleman,” Rachel replied.
“I really think so. It would be great if he were in our prom group.”
Fans of Swift criticized her for being naïve in light of the ongoing revelations about Combs’ scandalous parties. Last week, the number of lawsuits against the star surpassed a hundred, and a court date is set for May 2025. As of now, P. Diddy has not pleaded guilty to any of the charges.
