How Architects Managed to Create a Dream Home in Just 30m²

Kira and Alexander, architects and a married couple, took on the design and construction of a compact but functional home for living and recreation. Every detail is thought out so that the home becomes cozy and comfortable. They share their experience, inspiring us to new ideas!

Plot and start of construction
The idea arose against the backdrop of an abandoned plot in Anapa: the sea is nearby, and the status of the dacha construction SNT allowed to build a house suitable for living at any time of the year. The couple enthusiastically took on the creation of a cozy space in which one can comfortably live, work and enjoy nature.

Self-construction: from design to finishing
The process is entirely their work, from design to finishing. Having studied the features of the site and the climate, the architects decided to create a small eco-friendly house with a frame structure. This method turned out to be economical, fast and suitable for self-construction.

Layout and multifunctional solutions
Initially, Kira and Alexander thought through the scenarios for using the house and its functions. As a result, the project included a kitchen-living room, a bathroom and a bedroom, and a spacious terrace erases the boundary between the house and nature, becoming a place for meetings, yoga and work.

Interior: inspiration and color solutions
The design is based on the ideas of Tiny House and the style of Spanish villas. The color palette, including terracotta, green and beige, gives the interior integrity. Natural materials and a warm shade of wood, the same for the facade, interior and furniture on the terrace, create a harmonious space.

Materials and finishing
The finishing used lining, gypsum fiber sheets and plywood for the ceiling. Porcelain tiles were laid on the floors in all the rooms, and tiles with a hand-made texture were chosen for the kitchen. These solutions emphasized the style of the interior and were easy to maintain.

Cozy kitchen and innovative solutions
The kitchen, designed to meet individual needs, fits in 2 meters and is equipped with convenient cabinets. Here they did without a stationary hob, using an induction hob. The work surface made of solid pine added a unique character to the interior.

Smart home and comfort
The smart home system monitors temperature and humidity, and also allows you to control lighting and heating. These functions make the house comfortable to live in even from a distance.

Bathroom and practical solutions
The bathroom combines tiles and paneling protected from moisture, and a compact wall-mounted washing machine saves space. High ceilings allowed the boiler to be placed on the second level, providing free space and convenient access to utilities.
This micro home is a great example of how design and functionality can be combined to create a comfortable and inspiring space.
