The 61-year-old Hollywood star found himself in a delicate situation after a longtime acquaintance revealed their relationship. Rob Lowe stated that he had a romance with the “Striptease” actress nearly four decades ago. Lowe appeared on Kelly Ripa’s podcast “Let’s Talk Off Camera,” where she asked him about Demi—whether he was in love with her and if they dated.
In the 1980s, Rob and Demi were part of the so-called “Brat Pack,” a group of young actors who starred in teen-oriented films and series. The group also included Judd Nelson, Anthony Michael Hall, Emilio Estevez, Andrew McCarthy, Molly Ringwald, and Ally Sheedy. Rob expressed his negative feelings about the term “Brat Pack,” saying, “It was coined to belittle us and hurt our careers.”
However, he admitted that he did have a romantic relationship with Moore during that time. “I mean, Demi and I had something like a fling; we slept together. Among the cast of ‘St. Elmo’s Fire,’ there was a huge sexual free-for-all,” Rob shared.
According to him, at their age during the filming of the coming-of-age romantic comedy in 1985, it was not surprising that they quickly dated and broke up. After her fling with Rob, Demi became engaged to Estevez but later married Bruce Willis in 1987. “Emilio and Demi seemed to be engaged. Then we were all together at her wedding to Bruce. It was the biggest wedding I’ve ever attended,” he said.
Rob and Demi also crossed paths on the set of “About Last Night” in 1986. He noted that flings among co-stars were common back then. “Listen, when you gather 20-something girls and guys together, affairs are inevitable. I don’t think the situation has changed at all.”
Demi and Rob still maintain a friendly relationship and are in a group chat with other actors from “St. Elmo’s Fire.” They even discuss the possibility of a sequel.
In 1991, Lowe married makeup artist Sheryl Berkoff, and they have two sons—31-year-old Matthew and 29-year-old John. Rob and his 63-year-old wife live in an upscale neighborhood in Santa Barbara.
