A woman in Singapore was on her way home when she stumbled upon an amusing scene: a cat sitting in the void deck of a Housing and Development Board, watching two rats fight. She quickly grabbed her phone and recorded the incident, later sharing it on Facebook.
“I was driving home when I saw this funny sight!” Cheez Goh wrote on her Facebook page. “We’re used to seeing cats fight, but have you ever seen rats fighting? A cat that stays out of it is a smart one. Can you guess which rat it would chase—one that runs away from me or the one that comes towards me?”
In an interview with Bored Panda, Cheez described her encounter with the two rats: “I was driving home on July 8 at around 10 p.m. when I saw the rats darting around, trying to annoy each other before they split up while I was recording.”
“Then it happened again, and I quickly started filming. When I got to my block, I heard some noises and discovered the cat was watching the rats’ struggle.”
What happened next? “Eventually, the two rats gave up and went their separate ways. One scurried away from the camera, while the other approached it. It ran right towards me, unaware that I was filming. I startled and made a sudden movement, causing the rat to flee for its life, which caught the cat’s attention and made it chase after the rat. However, the cat missed because the rat darted down a drain. “Wow, that rat was super fast!”
