They had flown there to attend a concert by Niall Horan, a fellow member of the band One Direction that made Liam famous. However, Cassidy suddenly decided to leave. She explained on her social media page why she made this choice. She wrote that, although she loves Latin America, she can’t stand staying in one place for too long. According to her, she and Liam had planned to stay in Argentina for five days, but their trip had extended to two weeks. Kate told her boyfriend that it was time for her to go home, and she followed through on that decision.
After Payne’s death, the police examined the singer’s hotel room and found it in a wrecked state. Additionally, there was evidence of drug use by the room’s occupant. Meanwhile, before Kate’s departure, there were no signs of disorder in Liam’s room. It seems that the singer, who had previously admitted to struggles with alcohol and various substances, experienced a relapse. His fall from the balcony likely occurred under the influence of these substances.
