The legendary brand Victoria’s Secret has revived its iconic fashion shows, and fashion icon Tyra Banks has made her return to the runway.
The supermodel first donned the famous “angel wings” 24 years ago in 1998, just two years into her career. Since then, this accessory has become emblematic of Victoria’s Secret, appearing in every show. Banks last walked the runway 19 years ago in 2005, after which she decided to leave the fashion world to pursue a successful television career as the host of “America’s Next Top Model.”
The 50-year-old model took to the runway in New York wearing a dazzling black corset and top, sparkling leggings, and high heels. Tyra completed her bold look with a long silver coat.
Banks’ appearance was met with thunderous applause from both the audience and fellow “angels.” Alongside Banks, other Victoria’s Secret “angels” such as Bella and Gigi Hadid, Irina Shayk, Kate Moss, and Candice Swanepoel also participated in the show. The last Victoria’s Secret fashion show took place in 2018.
In August, Victoria’s Secret first announced that Banks would be joining the star-studded fashion show, a fact that was confirmed by the supermodel herself.
Adriana Lima also made a triumphant return to Victoria’s Secret after a six-year hiatus, having lost weight. The 43-year-old top model left the brand in 2018, which came as a complete surprise to the fashion world. Since 2014, the Brazilian has held the title of the second highest-paid model in the world.
