Megan Markle has once again sparked a wave of criticism against herself. This time, her comments during a meeting with teenagers in Santa Barbara provoked outrage.
At the gathering with girls who had been victims of severe bullying and mistreatment, Markle decided to compare herself to them. While discussing their issues, she suddenly stated that she is “one of the most hated and bullied people in the world.” This remark led to intense backlash. Larissa May, founder of a movement supporting girls in the U.S., was shocked that Prince Harry’s legitimate wife would dare to compare herself to actual victims. Even more upsetting to May was Markle’s declaration that she is one of the most affected individuals on the planet.
Commentator Chloe Dobbs, discussing this episode on the GBN news program, remarked that Markle’s statement is perhaps the most absurd and outrageous thing she has ever said, equating herself with the girls she was speaking to. Many of those girls had faced systematic abuse at home, while others had nearly been driven to suicide by cruel online attacks.
Psychologist Dr. Robi Ludwig noted that Markle, who has always sought the spotlight, has clearly lost her sense of proportion. This year, several of her ambitious endeavors have resulted in complete failures. It seems she has decided that since she can’t get attention for her achievements, she would try, without shame, to evoke sympathy instead. Ludwig described this behavior as “blatant narcissism.”
